REWIND...8 weeks
Well, the kids are into week 8 of a new school year. I finally feel like we are settling into having 3 of the kids in elementary school and Mason is still home with Mama. I am counting our blessings with the teachers that the kids have this year. In getting back to school, the long, leisurely days of summer become a distant memory. No more hanging out in our pj's until the afternoon. This is when the drill seargent in me comes out in full force. Just ask the kids. "Find your shoes...where did you see them last?...Where is your homework?...What do you mean you have a desert diaorama due today?...Did you brush your teeth?...Put your shoes on!....No, not the flip flops....No, it is not appropriate to bring the dog to school...Leave your brother alone...Blow your nose....brush your hair....pack your backpack...out the door....love you". While our mornings are a frenzy of crazy hustle-bustle we always say goodbye with a hug and kiss. Even little Mason will strap on his mini-backpack and hike up the hill to take Maddie, Jack and Lucas up to shcool in the morning.
