The Christmas Spirit

The tree is up and decorated.
I am still convinced that a REAL tree tops a fake.  A store bought wire and synthetic version works if you don't have a large area (like us), but I do miss the SMELL of pine.  Even though this is our 6th year putting up our faithful fakie, I look forward to the day that we can, once again, head to a tree farm and hand select "the" tree, tie it to the roof of the car and make it our own.

We are having somewhat of a storm of the century here in Southern California.
It just won't stop raining.
Making the best of the storm, we dubbed today "pj day" and stayed inside watching Christmas movies, sipping hot cocoa, and wrapping up our Christmas gifts.  We did have to venture out to chase down Sammy dog - she escaped out the front door.  We all threw on our  boots and jackets and ran down the street to capture our crazy-but-cute mutt.  After coming home cold and wet with gallons of water dripping from our bodies into the entryway I realized that I was ready for the rain to END.
