Days of Halloween

Happy Halloween!

It has been a busy week filled with everything halloween and we have been trying to keep up with our halloween traditions. The kids have been begging to carve their pumpkins for 2 weeks and we have been holding off. I can just imagine the rotting and disintegrated pumpkins that we carved too early last year. Bad idea.
How to create a pumpkin masterpiece: Step 1: dig out the "pumpkin guts". Step 2: plan out the design. Step 3: Have Mom and Dad help with the carving. Good times!

Madison................ Jackson...................... Lucas......................... Mason

We also squeezed in the beloved carmel apples...they were yummy!

On Thursday we had our annual Fall Festival up at Jackson Elementary. The kids had a blast playing carnival games and eating treats. We helped organize and run the cake walk and the ducky scoop booth....so much fun. Notice that Jack and Lucas are not in the pics...they were running around from booth to booth and I could hardly keep up. Maddie and her friends had fun hanging out in their costumes and Mason had fun eating the treats mostly.

Last night we broke many records trick or treating. We were out for 2 hours and the kids filled their buckets to the brim. Now,what the heck are we going to do with all of that candy? Mason, the well dressed pirate, and Lucas, the Grim Reaper, jumped into their costumes early in the day. Maddie, the Pirate girl, spent the afteroon at a friends halloween party and we picked her up just in time for trick or treating. Jackson, our shipwrecked pirate, was less interested in getting his costume on and more into collecting the candy. We had some friends over for pizza and then were out the door.

Love the pictures! Little Mason's picture made me laugh out loud! What a little man!

Do you coordinate every year and how in the world have you convinced the kids to cooperate? I coordinated one year (monkey & a banana), but haven't had the brain capacity to do it since and I'm afraid my clock is ticking on the time I'll actually be able to have some influence. You'll have to share your tips!
